Derby County’s 1-0 win over Reading on Wednesday, was hard fought at Pride Park Stadium. Derby were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Sheffield United whilst Reading were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Middlesbrough and Fulham. Following today’s result, Derby are in 24th place, with 1 point from 10 matches, while Reading sit in 10th, with 13 points from 10.

Derby started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Craig Forsyth giving The Rams the lead, at 33 minutes, finalising the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Both coaches used all substitutions. For Derby, Jack Kirk Stretton, Lee Buchanan and Dylan Williams, came on for Sam Baldock, Jason Knight and Ravel Morrison, Reading brought on Junior Hoilett, Jahmari Clarke and Scott Dann to replace George Puscas, Alen Halilovic and Dejan Tetek.

The referee booked Richard Stearman, Nathan Byrne, Graeme Shinnie and Tom Lawrence for Derby.

Derby will next play Swansea City at home, with Reading facing Cardiff City away.
