Coventry City snatched all three points from Reading in a 2-1 victory on Saturday, at Coventry Building Society Arena. Coventry were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Blackpool. Reading lost 3-2 in the last match they played against Bristol City. As it stands, Coventry are in 10th place on the table and has 6 points while Reading sit in 18th with 3 points after 4 matches.
The Royals started strongly in the first half, with John Swift giving Reading the lead just before half-time, seeing out the first half 0-1.
Coventry continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Jamie Allen at the 62 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Matt Godden just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.
For Coventry, Matt Godden and Jamie Allen, came on for Martyn Waghorn and Julien Da Costa. Reading replaced Tom Holmes, Junior Hoilett and Jahmari Clarke with Tom McIntyre, Femi Azeez and Tom Dele-Bashiru.
There were bookings for Dominic Hyam, Ian Maatsen, Callum O`Hare, Ben Sheaf, Kyle McFadzean and Gustavo Hamer from Coventry. For Reading, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Andy Rinomhota saw yellow.
Reading and Coventry will next play away to Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers respectively.
