Millwall fell to an away defeat at the hands of Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday. Cardiff arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Peterborough United in their previous game. Millwall lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Fulham. As things stand, Cardiff are in 6th place, with 8 points from 4 matches, while Millwall sit in 21st, with 2 points from 4.
After an un-eventful first half, The Bluebirds applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Aden Flint finding the net at the 66 minute mark. The momentum was now with Cardiff, who then scored again through a 2nd effort from Aden Flint, at 70 minutes to establish a 2-0. However, The Lions weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Benik Afobe in the 76th minute. Cardiff in turn, then responded at the 83 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Sean Morrison. The game ended with a 3-1 home victory.
For Cardiff, Leandro Bacuna, Ryan Giles and James Collins, came on for Rubin Colwill, Mark Harris and Kieffer Moore. Millwall brought on Matt Smith and Connor Mahoney, to replace George Evans and Jake Cooper.
There were bookings for Aden Flint and Curtis Nelson from Cardiff. For Millwall, Jake Cooper saw yellow.
