Cardiff 1 – Bristol 2: Visitors at the Cardiff City Stadium secure victory

Bristol City eased past Cardiff City in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff had been hopeful of continuing their run, following a 3-1 victory against Millwall. Bristol lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Swansea City. As it stands, Cardiff are in 6th place on the table and has 8 points while Bristol sit in 10th with 7 points after 5 matches.

The Robins started strongly in the first half, thanks to Andreas Weimann giving Bristol the lead, 21 minutes in, finishing the first half 0-1.

Cardiff took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Daniel Bentley in the 59th minute. In the end though, Bristol at the 70 minute mark took the victory via another Andreas Weimann goal and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Cardiff, Rubin Colwill and James Collins, came on for Leandro Bacuna and Tom Sang. Bristol brought on Antoine Semenyo, Jay Dasilva and Alex Scott, to replace Andy King, Cameron Pring and Andreas Weimann.

There were bookings for Sean Morrison and Joe Ralls from Cardiff. For Bristol, Antoine Semenyo and Chris Martin saw yellow.

Cardiff will next play Nottingham Forest away, with Bristol facing Preston North End at home.
