Bristol on Friday lost to Stoke City on a home defeat at the Ashton Gate. Bristol arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Rotherham United. Stoke, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Derby County in their last match. As the table looks today, Bristol are in 14th place, with 49 points from 39 matches, while Stoke sit in 11th, with 55 points from 39.

The Potters found the net first, with a goal from Nick Powell at the 25 minute mark, finishing the first half 0-1.

Stoke continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Steven Fletcher, on 62 minutes, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

For Bristol, Tyreeq Bakinson, Marley Watkins, Daniel Simpson, Famara Diedhiou and Zak Vyner, came on for Sam Bell, Henri Lansbury, Tommy Rowe, Nahki Wells and Kasey Palmer. Stoke brought on Sam Vokes, Josh Tymon and Christian Norton, to replace Steven Fletcher, Nick Powell and Jacob Brown.

There were bookings for Henri Lansbury from Bristol, and Jacob Brown, for Stoke.

Bristol will next travel to Coventry City, while Stoke will face Millwall at home.
