Brentford avoid defeat and secure a 1-0 victory at home to Luton Town

On Wednesday, Luton Town suffer an away defeat to Brentford at Brentford Community Stadium. Both Brentford and Luton Town arrived at the challenge after previous wins. Brentford were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Bournemouth at home (2-1), the other to Cardiff City away (3-2). Luton Town were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Bournemouth. As it stands, Brentford are in 3rd place, with 44 points from 25 matches, while Luton Town sit in 12th, with 33 points from 25.

The first half of the game started favourably for Brentford, beginning with a goal from Saman Ghoddos, 14 minutes in and managed to see out the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

For Brentford, Marcus Forss, Tarique Fosu and Jan Zamburek came on for Luke Berry, George Moncur, James Collins, Dan Potts and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, while Luton Town brought on Ryan Tunnicliffe, Jordan Clark, Kazenga LuaLua, Kal Naismith and Danny Hylton to replace Luke Berry, George Moncur, James Collins, Dan Potts and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The referee booked from Brentford Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney and from Luton Town Sonny Bradley. Both teams also had a sending off, with Ivan Toney (2 yellow cards) for Brentford and Tom Lockyer for Luton Town.

Brentford will next travel to Swansea City, while Luton Town will face Rotherham United at home.
