Bournemouth 2 – QPR 1- Rangers unable to avoid away defeat

Bournemouth’s 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, was hard fought at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth were looking to pick up points after winning last match while QPR had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Reading. As it stands, Bournemouth and QPR currently occupy 1st and 6th spots in the table, with 15 points and 12 points respectively after 7 matches.

The Cherries started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Jaidon Anthony, 12 minutes in. Bournemouth then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Dominic Solanke, 37 minutes in, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

QPR took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Sam McCallum at the 57 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Both managers used allfull available substitutions. For Bournemouth, Ben, Morgan Rogers and Chris Mepham, came on for David Brooks, Jaidon Anthony and Ryan Christie, QPR brought on Albert Adomah, Andre Gray and George Thomas to replace Osman Kakay, Lyndon Dykes and Ilias Chair.

There were bookings for Jordan Zemura, David Brooks, Ben, Philip Billing and Adam Smith from Bournemouth. For QPR, Stefan Johansen, Chris Willock and Yoann Barbet saw yellow.

Bournemouth will next play Cardiff City away, with QPR facing Bristol City at home.
