Bournemouth 2 – Luton 1: The Cherries take all 3 points at the Vitality Stadium

Bournemouth eased past Luton Town in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Cardiff City away (1-0), the other to Queens Park Rangers at home (2-1). Luton, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Swansea City. After today’s result, Bournemouth and Luton currently occupy 1st and 16th spots in the league, with 21 points and 10 points respectively after 9 matches.

Bournemouth started the game well, thanks to Philip Billing finding the net at the 17 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Dominic Solanke made it 2-0 in the 31st minute. The score at half time was 2-0.

Luton took the lead in the second half, with Reece Burke finding the net in the 64th minute, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Both managers used allfull available substitutions. For Bournemouth, Morgan Rogers, Chris Mepham and Jamal Lowe, came on for Jaidon Anthony, Ryan Christie and Dominic Solanke, Luton brought on Amari Bell, Carlos Mendes Gomes and Cameron Jerome to replace Gabriel Osho, Luke Berry and Harry Cornick.

The referee booked Ben and Jamal Lowe for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth will play their next fixture away against Peterborough United, while Luton will face Coventry City at home.
