Bournemouth 2 – Blackpool 2- The Cherries denied all 3 points at the Vitality Stadium

On Saturday, Bournemouth and Blackpool were held to a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two matches against Birmingham City away and Nottingham Forest away, by 2-0 and 2-1 respectively. Blackpool had lost their previous match against Coventry City. After today’s result, Bournemouth are in 6th place, with 8 points from 4 matches, while Blackpool sit in 22nd, with 2 points from 4.

Bournemouth started the first half well, with Dominic Solanke finding the net early in the first half. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Dominic Solanke, 20 minutes in, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Blackpool took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from James Husband in the 57th minute. Blackpool then scored once more and found an equaliser thanks to a goal from Jerry Yates in the 60th minute with a final score of 2-2.

For Bournemouth, Emiliano Marcondes, Ben and Leif Davis, came on for Junior Stanislas, Gavin Kilkenny and Chris Mepham. Blackpool brought on Reece James and Shayne Lavery, to replace Grant Ward and Tyreece John-Jules.

The referee booked four players from Blackpool, Luke Garbutt, Tyreece John-Jules, Callum Connolly and Marvin Ekpiteta.

Next up, Bournemouth are away to Hull City, whilst Blackpool will travel to face Millwall.
