On Friday, Middlesbrough suffer an away defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth were looking to continue their run after winning last match while Boro lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Millwall. As it stands, Bournemouth are in 6th place on the table and has 62 points while Boro sit in 9th with 56 points after 39 matches.

Bournemouth started the game well, thanks to Philip Billing giving The Cherries the lead in the 14th minute, seeing out the first half 1-0.

The Boro took the initiative in the second half, with Duncan Watmore finding the net, 63 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and Bournemouth then found the back of the net, 66 minutes in thanks to Jefferson Lerma, taking the score to 2-1. Bournemouth then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Dominic Solanke, 83 minutes in with a final score of 3-1.

For Bournemouth, Jack Stacey, Ben Pearson and Shane Long, came on for Nathaniel Mendez Laing, Yannick Bolasie, Neeskens Kebano and Duncan Watmore. Boro replaced Hayden Coulson, Ashley Fletcher, Chuba Akpom and Marvin Johnson with Nathaniel Mendez Laing, Yannick Bolasie, Neeskens Kebano and Duncan Watmore.

There were bookings for Philip Billing and Adam Smith from Bournemouth. For Boro, Paddy McNair and Marc Bola saw yellow.

Bournemouth will next travel to Blackburn Rovers, while Boro will face Watford at home.
