Blackpool’s 1-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday, was hard fought at Bloomfield Road. Blackpool were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Middlesbrough. Barnsley had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Blackburn Rovers. After today’s result, Blackpool and Barnsley sit 14th, (11 points) and 20th, (8 points), in the league respectively, after 9 matches.

Blackpool started the game well, thanks to Shayne Lavery giving Blackpool the lead, 31 minutes in, seeing out the first half 1-0. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Blackpool, Gary Madine, James Husband and Demetri Mitchell, came on for Tyreece John-Jules, Keshi Anderson and Josh Bowler, Barnsley brought on Clarke Oduor, Aaron Leya Iseka and Romal Palmer, to replace Dominik Frieser, Victor Adeboyejo and Josh Benson.

There were bookings for Ryan Wintle from Blackpool, and Jasper Moon, Josh Benson and Aaron Leya Iseka, for Barnsley.

Blackpool will next travel to Hull City, while Barnsley will face Nottingham Forest at home.
