Birmingham on home loss to Nottingham Forest at St Andrew’s Stadium on Saturday. Birmingham were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-0 to Queens Park Rangers. Forest, on the other hand, were coming from a 3-1 win against Barnsley. As the table looks today, Birmingham are in 16th place on the table and has 12 points while Forest sit in 17th with 11 points after 11 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Red dogs, with Lewis Grabban opening the rout at the 11 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Ryan Yates made it 2-0, 29 minutes in. The first half ended 0-2.
Forest started the second half with an intensified spirit, with Djed Spence finding the net, 53 minutes in, sealing a 3-0 victory for the home side.
Both teams used all available substitutes. For Birmingham, Riley McGree, Chuks Aneke and Troy Deeney, came on for Jeremie Bela, Scott Hogan and Ivan Sunjic, Forest replaced James Garner, Lyle Taylor and Alexander Mighten with Philip Zinckernagel, Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson.
There were bookings for Lukas Jutkiewicz from Birmingham. For Forest, Ryan Yates, Max Lowe and Lewis Grabban saw yellow.
Birmingham will next travel to West Bromwich Albion, while Forest will face Blackpool at home.
