On Friday, Barnsley and Reading were held to a 1-1 draw at Oakwell Ground. Barnsley were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday. Reading secured a point against Queens Park Rangers in their previous match. As things stand, Barnsley are in 5th place, with 65 points from 39 matches, while Reading sit in 6th, with 63 points from 39.

The Royals started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Ovie Ejaria finding the net, on 34 minutes to take them into the break 0-1 up.

The Tykes took the initiative in the second half, with Alex Mowatt finding the net at the 61 minute mark. The game ended 1-1.

For Barnsley, Daryl Dike, Carlton Morris and Aapo Halme, came on for Victor Adeboyejo, Cauley Woodrow and Romal Palmer. Reading brought on Tom Holmes and Alfa Semedo, to replace Michael Morrison and Michael Olise.

The referee booked Cauley Woodrow, Romal Palmer and Aapo Halme for Barnsley.

Barnsley will next play Luton Town away, with Reading facing Derby County at home.
