Juve 1 – Chelsea 0: Visitors leave with nothing as The Zebras see off The Pensioners in 1-0 victory

Juventus defeat Chelsea 1-0 on Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium. Both teams arrived on the back of wins. Juve were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Chelsea, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Zenit St. Petersburg. After today’s result, Juve are in 1st place, with 6 points from 2 matches, while Chelsea sit in 2nd, with 3 points from 2.

Juve started the first half well, thanks to Federico Chiesa giving The Old Lady the lead just before half-time The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Juve, Dejan Kulusevski, Weston McKennie, Moise Kean and Giorgio Chiellini, came on for Federico Bernardeschi, Adrien Rabiot, Federico Chiesa and Rodrigo Bentancur. Chelsea replaced Marcos Alonso, Jorginho, Hakim Ziyech, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen for Ben Chilwell, Trevoh Chalobah, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley.

There were bookings for Juan Cuadrado from Juve. For Chelsea, Marcos Alonso, Hakim Ziyech and Antonio Rudiger saw yellow.

Juve will next play Zenit St. Petersburg away, with Chelsea facing Malmö at home.
