Salzburg 2 – Lille 1: FC Salzburg celebrate 2-1 victory against Lille

FC Salzburg’s 2-1 win over Lille on Wednesday, was hard fought at Red Bull Arena. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Salzburg were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Seville in their previous game. Lille had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Wolfsburg. After today’s result, Salzburg are in 1st place on the table and has 4 points while Lille sit in 4th with 1 point after 2 matches.

Salzburg found the net first, with Karim Adeyemi giving Salzburg the lead at the 35 minute mark to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Salzburg started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to Karim Adeyemi finding the net again at the 53 minute mark. In the end though, Les Dogues, 62 minutes in pull-back via a Burak Yilmaz goal. The game ended with a 2-1 win for Salzburg.

For Salzburg, Benjamin Sesko, Nicolas Capaldo and Chukwubuike Adamu, came on for Noah Okafor, Luka Sucic and Karim Adeyemi. Lille brought on Jonathan Bamba, Amadou Mvom Onana, Jonathan Ikone, Isaac Lihadji and Reinildo Mandava, to replace Tim Weah, Xeka, Angel Gomes, Jonathan David and Gabriel Gudmundsson.

There were bookings for Karim Adeyemi and Nicolas Capaldo from Salzburg, and Botman Sven, Xeka, Burak Yilmaz, Jose Fonte and Jonathan Bamba, for Lille.

Salzburg next face Wolfsburg and Lille are at home to Seville.
