Man City gets a big lead in the round of 16 after winning the first leg against Borussia Mönchengladbach by 2-0 last Wednesday. After this result, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Manchester City faces will be seen in an exciting lap game where Mönchengladbach will try to turn the knockout round.

Manchester City started well with, following a goal from Bernardo Silva in the 29th minute and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Manchester City continued to apply pressure the second half and were rewarded, beginning with a goal from Gabriel Jesus, 65 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For Borussia Mönchengladbach Marcus Thuram, Valentino Lazaro, Breel Embolo and Hannes Wolf came on for Alassane Plea, Stefan Lainer, Lars Stindl and Jonas Hofmann, while Man City brought on Riyad Mahrez, Ferran Torres and Sergio Aguero to replace Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus.

No cards were presented on the game sheet.

After the return match that will take place on 16 March we will know who will move to the next stage of the European Championship.
