On Sunday, Wolfsburg and Frankfurt were held to a 1-1 draw at the Volkswagen Arena. Wolfsburg were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Greuther Fürth away (2-0), the other to RB Leipzig at home (1-0). Frankfurt, on the other hand, secured a point against Stuttgart in their previous match. As it stands, Wolfsburg and Frankfurt currently occupy 2nd and 15th spots in the league, with 13 points and 4 points respectively after 5 matches.

The Eagles started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Sam Lammers giving Frankfurt the lead at the 38 minute mark, seeing out the first half 0-1.

Wolfsburg took the initiative in the second half, with Wout Weghorst finding the net at the 70 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Wolfsburg, Lukas Nmecha, Ridle Baku and Jerome Roussillon, came on for Renato Steffen, Luca Waldschmidt and Yannick Gerhardt. Frankfurt brought on Jens Hauge, Jesper Lindstrom, Ajdin Hrustic and Stefan Ilsanker, to replace Sam Lammers, Filip Kostic, Djibril Sow and Daichi Kamada.

There were bookings for Luca Waldschmidt and Josuha Guilavogui from Wolfsburg, and Danny Da Costa, Djibril Sow, Kristijan Jakic, Erik Durm, Martin Hinteregger and Evan N`Dicka, for Frankfurt.

Wolfsburg will next play Hoffenheim away, with Frankfurt facing FC Köln at home.
