Wolfsburg beats SC Freiburg 3-0 on Sunday at the Volkswagen Arena. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Wolfsburg were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two matches against Bayer Leverkusen away and Mainz 05 away, by 1-0 and 2-0 respectively. SC Freiburg, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Stuttgart. After today’s result, Wolfsburg are in 3rd place on the table and has 35 points while SC Freiburg sit in 9th with 27 points after 19 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Wolfsburg, with John Brooks opening the rout, 21 minutes in. Later, Wolfsburg took the lead with a goal form a goal from Wout Weghorst in the 39th minute, thereby seeing the first half to a 2-0.

Wolfsburg continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Yannick Gerhardt just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for Wolfsburg.

For Wolfsburg Admir Mehmedi, Bartosz Bialek, Josuha Guilavogui, Joao Victor and Josip Brekalo came on for Renato Steffen, Wout Weghorst, Xaver Schlager, Ridle Baku and Maximilian Arnold, while Freiburg brought on Nils Petersen, Lucas Holer, Lukas Kubler, Yannik Keitel and Janik Haberer to replace Ermedin Demirovic, Woo-yeong Jeong, Jonathan Schmid, Baptiste Santamaria and Vincenzo Grifo.
