Union Berlin on away loss to Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday. RB Leipzig were looking for a victory after a 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg. Union Berlin were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Bayer Leverkusen. At the moment, RB Leipzig are currently 2nd with 35 points from 17 matches, while Union Berlin sit in 6th, with 28 points from 17.

After an uneventful first half, RB Leipzig continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Emil Forsberg, 70 minutes in. The game ended with a 1-0 victory for RB Leipzig.

For RB Leipzig Emil Forsberg, Tyler Adams, Yussuf Poulsen and Amadou Haidara came on for Kevin Kampl, Nordi Mukiele, Dani Olmo and Christopher Nkunku, while Union Berlin brought on Marius Bulter, Leon Dajaku, Christian Gentner, Keita Endo and Niko Giesselmann to replace Taiwo Awoniyi, Cedric Teuchert, Florian Hubner, Sebastian Griesbeck and Christopher Lenz.

There were bookings for Angelino from Leipzig and Niko Giesselmann for Union Berlin.

Union Berlin and RB Leipzig will next play away to FC Augsburg and Mainz 05 respectively.
