On Sunday, Union Berlin and Hoffenheim were held to a 1-1 draw at The An der Alten Försterei Stadium. Both Union Berlin and Hoffenheim arrived on the back of wins. Union Berlin were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Hoffenheim were looking to extend their winning run after a 4-0 victory against Werder Bremen. As it stands, Union Berlin and Hoffenheim currently occupy 7th and 11th spots in the league, with 34 points and 27 points respectively after 23 matches.

Union Berlin scored first, beginning with Max Kruse opening the scoring, 9 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Nico Schlotterbeck, 29 minutes in brought Hoffenheim level, to take a 1-1 lead into half time. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Union Berlin, Marius Bulter, Christian Gentner, Petar Musa and Cedric Teuchert came on for Marco John, Ihlas Bebou and Andrej Kramaric, while Hoffenheim replaced Ryan Sessegnon, Sargis Adamyan and Munas Dabbur with Marco John, Ihlas Bebou and Andrej Kramaric.

The referee booked two players from Hoffenheim, Chris Richards and Kevin Vogt.

Union Berlin will next travel to Arminia Bielefeld, while Hoffenheim will face Wolfsburg at home.
