Freiburg 1 – Cologne 1- Breisgau Brazilians locked into a draw at home to The Billy Goats

On Saturday, Freiburg and Cologne were held to a 1-1 draw at the Schwarzwald-Stadion. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Freiburg were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Stuttgart away and Borussia Dortmund at home, by 3-2 and 2-1 respectively. Cologne were coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Bochum. As it stands, Freiburg are in 4th place on the table and has 8 points while Cologne sit in 7th with 7 points after 4 matches.

Cologne dominated the first half, with Anthony Modeste giving The Billy Goats the lead, at 33 minutes to see out the first half 0-1.

Freiburg took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Rafael Czichos just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Freiburg, Janik Haberer, Kevin Schade, Nils Petersen, Ermedin Demirovic and Noah Weisshaupt, came on for Maximilian Eggestein, Woo-yeong Jeong, Roland Sallai, Lucas Holer and Lukas Kubler. Cologne brought on Ellyes Skhiri, Ondrej Duda, Tim Lemperle, Louis Schaub and Tomas Ostrak, to replace Mark Uth, Anthony Modeste, Salih Ozcan, Sebastian Andersson and Dejan Ljubicic.

The referee booked Kevin Schade from Freiburg. Cologne had the worst of it though, with Florian Kainz and Anthony Modeste seeing yellow, and Florian Kainz (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Freiburg will next travel to Mainz, while Cologne will face RB Leipzig at home.
