Leverkusen work hard to secure a 1 goal win against Dortmund

Leverkusen beats Dortmund 2-1 on Tuesday at the BayArena. Bayer Leverkusen were hoping to get something from this game after losing 1-0 to Union Berlin in their last match. Borussia Dortmund had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Mainz 05. After today’s result, Bayer Leverkusen are in 3rd place, with 32 points from 17 matches, while Borussia Dortmund sit in 4th, with 29 points from 17.

Bayer Leverkusen started well as, thanks to a goal from Moussa Diaby in minute 14, finalising the first half with a 1-0.

Borussia Dortmund took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Julian Brandt in the 67th minute. However, Bayer Leverkusen, 80 minutes in reestablished their lead following a Florian Wirtz goal. The game ended with a 2-1 victory for Bayer Leverkusen.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Bayer Leverkusen Daley Sinkgraven, Patrik Schick and Kerem Demirbay came on for Wendell, Lucas Alario and Charles Aranguiz, while Dortmund brought on Giovanni Reyna, Youssoufa Moukoko and Steffen Tigges to replace Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Marco Reus.

There were bookings for Leon Bailey and Moussa Diaby from Leverkusen and Mats Hummels and Thomas Delaney for Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen will play their next fixture at home against Wolfsburg, while Borussia Dortmund will face Borussia Mönchengladbach away.
