On Saturday, Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 were held to a 1-1 draw at the Weserstadion. Werder Bremen were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Schalke 04, on the other hand, were beaten 4-0 in the previous match against Bayern München. As the table looks today, Werder Bremen are in 11th place, with 22 points from 19 matches, while Schalke 04 sit in 18th, with 8 points from 19.

Schalke 04 started strongly in the first half, following Omar Mascarell opening the scoring in the 38th minute. The score at half time was 1-0.

Werder Bremen took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Kevin Mohwald in the 77th minute, levelled the score at 1-1 draw.

For Werder Bremen, Milot Rashica, Kevin Mohwald, Ludwig Augustinsson, Yuya Osako and Niklas Moisander came on for Alessandro Schopf, Amine Harit, Matthew Hoppe and Omar Mascarell, while Schalke replaced Nassim Boujellab, William, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Malick Thiaw with Alessandro Schopf, Amine Harit, Matthew Hoppe and Omar Mascarell.

The referee booked four players from Schalke 04, Benjamin Stambouli, Ralf Fahrmann, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Malick Thiaw.

Werder Bremen will next travel to Arminia Bielefeld, while Schalke 04 will face RB Leipzig at home.
