Köln suffered an away loss to Hoffenheim on Sunday at the Prezero Arena. Both teams arrived fresh from some positive results. Hoffenheim were looking to pick up points after winning last match. FC Köln had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Schalke 04. As it stands, Hoffenheim and FC Köln are 11th, (22 points) and 16th, (15 points), in the table respectively, after 18 matches.

Hoffenheim started strong and were rewarded, with Andrej Kramaric opening the rout after only 7 minutes. Later, Hoffenheim scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Christoph Baumgartner, 28 minutes in, finalising the first half with a 2-0.

Hoffenheim continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, with Andrej Kramaric opening the scoring in minute 75. The game ended with a 3-0 victory for Hoffenheim.

For Hoffenheim, Sargis Adamyan, Pavel Kaderabek, Munas Dabbur and Melayro Bogarde came on for Sava-Arangel Cestic, Kingsley Ehizibue, Noah Katterbach, Ondrej Duda and Jonas Hector, while Köln brought on Jorge Mere, Jan Thielmann, Ismail Jakobs, Anthony Modeste and Elvis Rexhbecaj to replace Sava-Arangel Cestic, Kingsley Ehizibue, Noah Katterbach, Ondrej Duda and Jonas Hector.

There were bookings for Ihlas Bebou and Stefan Posch from Hoffenheim and Sava-Arangel Cestic, Ellyes Skhiri and Jorge Mere for Köln.

Hoffenheim will next travel to Bayern München, while FC Köln will face Arminia Bielefeld at home.
