On Sunday, Frankfurt and Stuttgart were held to a 1-1 draw at the Commerzbank Arena. Frankfurt wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld. Stuttgart were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against SC Freiburg. Following today’s result, Frankfurt and Stuttgart currently occupy 14th and 10th spots in the table, with 3 points and 4 points respectively after 4 matches.

After a goalless first half, Frankfurt fought back the second half, thanks to Filip Kostic giving The Eagles the lead, 79 minutes in. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Omar Marmoush equalised for Stuttgart just before the final whistle. The final result, Frankfurt 1, Stuttgart 1.

For Frankfurt, Filip Kostic, Kristijan Jakic, Rafael Borre, Danny Da Costa and Goncalo Paciencia, came on for Jesper Lindstrom, Ajdin Hrustic, Sam Lammers, Erik Durm and Jens Hauge. Stuttgart brought on Tanguy Coulibaly, Omer Beyaz, Hiroki Ito, Orel Mangala and Hamadi Al Ghaddioui, to replace Roberto Massimo, Mateo Klimowicz, Borna Sosa, Philipp Klement and Marc Kempf.

The referee booked Christopher Lenz from Frankfurt. Stuttgart had the worst of it though, with Omar Marmoush, Waldemar Anton, Tanguy Coulibaly and Orel Mangala seeing yellow, and Waldemar Anton then sent off with a red.

Frankfurt will next travel to Wolfsburg, while Stuttgart will face Bayer Leverkusen at home.
