Brentford enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Bournemouth at Brentford Community Stadium on Wednesday. Brentford were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Cardiff City away (2-3), the other to Reading at home (3-1). Bournemouth, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, Brentford are in 2nd place, with 41 points from 22 matches, while Bournemouth sit in 4th, with 38 points from 22.

Bournemouth started well as, following a goal from Dominic Solanke in the 25th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Henrik Dalsgaard, 37 minutes in brought Brentford level, which saw the first half end 1-1.

Brentford continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, thanks to Tarique Fosu opening the scoring in the 79th minute, sealing a resounding 2-1 victory for the home side.

Brentford brought on Tarique Fosu, Emiliano Marcondes and Saman Ghoddos for Sergi Canos, Joshua Da Silva and Bryan Mbeumo. Bournemouth brought on Joshua King, Sam Surridge and Dan Gosling, to replace Lewis Cook, David Brooks and Jefferson Lerma.
