Preston delivered a resounding 2-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers on Friday, at Ewood Park. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Blackburn Rovers were looking to get back winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Queens Park Rangers. Preston North End, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Rotherham United. As things stand, both teams are on 39 points and occupy 8th and 10th places respectively after 29 matches.
Preston North End started strongly in the first half, following Gregory Cunningham opening the scoring, 19 minutes in. Later, Preston North End scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Liam Lindsay to make it 2-0. However, Blackburn Rovers hit back just before half-time, with a penalty goal from Adam Armstrong in the 45th minute. The score at half time was 2-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-1.
