Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Coventry City: Points shared, as Blackburn Rovers play out a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park

Blackburn Rovers were held to 1-1 draw by Coventry City down on Saturday at Ewood Park. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Blackburn Rovers were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Watford. Coventry City were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Swansea City. As it stands, Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City are 15th, (40 points) and 20th, (35 points), spots respectively, after 33 matches.

Blackburn Rovers started the game well, following a goal from Ben Brereton in the 27th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Coventry City staged a comeback in the second half, thanks to early goal from Matty James in the 50th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Blackburn Rovers, Tom Trybull, Bradley Dack and Tyrhys Dolan came on for Jordan Shipley, Matty James, Fankaty Dabo and Tyler Walker, and Coventry brought on Gustavo Hamer, Callum O`Hare, Josh Pask and Viktor Gyokeres for Jordan Shipley, Matty James, Fankaty Dabo and Tyler Walker.

The referee booked Barry Douglas from Blackburn Rovers. Coventry City had the worst of it though, with Leo Ostigard seeing yellow, and Leo Ostigard (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Blackburn Rovers will play their next fixture away against Reading, while Coventry City will face Middlesbrough at home.
