Barnsley strolled past Blackburn Rovers with a 2-1 win on Wednesday at Oakwell Ground. Barnsley were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 2-0 victory against Brentford. Blackburn Rovers, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Preston North End. As the table looks today, Barnsley and Blackburn Rovers currently occupy 10th and 12th spots in the league, with 42 points and 39 points respectively after 30 matches.
After an uneventful first half, Barnsley continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, beginning with Carlton Morris opening the scoring, 72 minutes in. Later, Barnsley scored again thanks to a goal from Alex Mowatt, 90 minutes in to establish the 2-0. However, Blackburn Rovers hit back just before the final whistle, with a goal from Adam Armstrong in the 90th minute and seeing the game end 2-1.
