Barnsley snatched all three points from Stoke City in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday, at Oakwell Ground. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. As the table looks today, Barnsley and Stoke City are 7th, (48 points) and 10th, (45 points), in the league respectively, after 32 matches.

Barnsley started the game well, beginning with a goal from Callum Styles in the 9th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Barnsley continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following Daryl Dike opening the scoring just before the final whistle, sealing a resounding 2-0 victory for the home side.

For Barnsley Daryl Dike, Victor Adeboyejo, Aapo Halme, Conor Chaplin and Michael Sollbauer came on for Carlton Morris, Dominik Frieser, Romal Palmer, Cauley Woodrow and Toby Sibbick, while Stoke City brought on Sam Vokes, Joe Allen, Jordan Cousins, Jack Clarke and Tashan Oakley-Boothe to replace Steven Fletcher, Jordan Thompson, Tommy Smith, Josh Tymon and Jacob Brown.

The referee booked three players from Stoke City, Danny Batth, John Mikel Obi and Nick Powell.
